Knicks will obtain Camby in trade with Rockets

The SportsXchange

The New York Knicks will obtain unrestricted free agent center Marcus Camby in a sign-and-trade deal with the Houston Rockets, multiple media outlets reported Monday.

In return for Camby, the Rockets will get Toney Douglas, Jerome Jordan and Josh Harrellson in addition to the Knicks' second-round draft picks in 2014 and 2015, according to Yahoo Sports.

The trade cannot be made official until Wednesday.

Camby has agreed to sign a three-year contract worth $13.2 million.

Camby, the 2007 NBA Defensive player of the year, will join Tyson Chandler, who won that award this season.

Camby averaged 7.1 points and 9.3 rebounds in 19 games for the Rockets this past year. He played the first 40 games of the 2011-2012 season with Portland, where he averaged 3.8 points and 8.9 rebounds.

Douglas averaged 6.2 points for the Knicks last season, while Harrellson averaged 4.4 and Jordan 2.0.
