Knicks F Anthony to rest knee Friday night

The Knicks will be without forward Carmelo Anthony for the second straight game on Friday night when New York plays at Sacramento.

Anthony suffered a knee injury on Christmas Day in a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers when teammate Marcus Camby collided with him.

Afterward, Anthony said he mildly hyperextended the knee. He told reporters later that the knee swelled up during a flight from Los Angeles to Phoenix and he had trouble walking the next day, according to the New York Post.

However, Anthony contends the injury isn't serious and says there are no plans for tests on the knee.

After Friday's game, the Knicks don't play again until New Year's Day against Portland in New York.
