Kirkpatrick, four other Bengals on injured lists

Rookie first-round pick cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick was placed on the active/non-football injury list by the Bengals, who also placed cornerback Nate Clements, wide receiver Jordan Shipley, defensive tackle Pat Sims and kicker Mike Nugent on the active/physically unable to perform list to open training camp.

Kirkpatrick, who signed his contract Wednesday, is expected to miss up to six weeks with a fractured bone in his knee suffered during a workout earlier this month.

Shipley suffeed a season-ending knee injury last September and has been gradually cleared to do more on-field work. Clements has been recovering from an abdominal strain.

All five players count against the 90-man roster limit and can be activated anytime before final cuts are made.

Linebacker Brandon Joiner was placed on the reserve/did not report list and does not count against the roster limit.
