    Kings sign top pick Robinson

    The Sacramento Kings announced Monday they have signed first-round draft pick Thomas Robinson to a contract.

    Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but Thomas, as the No. 5 overall pick, is slotted in the NBA rookie scale to earn about $2.8 million in the first year of the contract and up to $3 million in the third. Players can sign for up to 120 percent of the slotted salary and no less than 80 percent of that salary.

    The announcement comes a day after the Kings reached an agreement with restricted free agent power forward Jason Thompson, who can sign his contract Wednesday.
