New York Knicks guard Jason Kidd has become the first player to win back-to-back NBA sportsmanship awards.

Kidd, 40, garnered 91 first-place votes from league players and 2,474 total points Tuesday to earn the Joe Dumars Trophy in his first season with the Knicks. He earned the award last season playing for the Dallas Mavericks.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Grant Hill, who has been honored three times, is the only other player to win multiple times. Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who won 2011, finished second, and Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng placed third.

---The Kings' likelihood of staying in Sacramento could play a part in Phil Jackson landing in Toronto.

The Raptors are poised to make a strong push to lure the decorated former Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers coach to Toronto as their new president, sources close to the situation told ESPN.com.

The Raptors feel they have a shot at Jackson, largely because of his longtime friendship with Tim Leiweke. Leiweke was introduced last week as the new CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, which oversees the Raptors, NHL's Maple Leafs and Toronto FC of Major League Soccer.

---Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to repair meniscus damage on Monday at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo.

After a short recovery and rehabilitation period, Gallinari will have surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, the team announced Tuesday.

The injury occurred April 4. At the time, Gallinari was averaging career highs of 16.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while making a team-best 135 3-pointers in 71 games.

---The Los Angeles Lakers announced Tuesday that forward Antawn Jamison underwent successful surgery on his injured right wrist in Los Angeles by hand specialist Dr. Steven Shin of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.

Jamison should be recovered before next season, the team said. Despite suffering the injury in March, Jamison played through it and averaged 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 76 games.
