Kevin Youkilis: Yankees Make Offer
Update: The Yankees have made Youkilis a one-year, $12 million offer, Andrew Marchand of ESPN New York reports.

Recommendation: Given that the Yankees still have holes to fill in right field and at catcher, Alex Rodriguez' latest hip issues have left the Yankees scrambling a bit for offense. Fallback third base options such as Jeff Keppinger and Eric Chavez have signed with other clubs over the past few days. While the offer is an overpay based on where Youkilis is in his career, he's the best option out there to fill the Yankees' hole at third base. The Indians (now helmed by Youkilis' former manager, Terry Francona) are believed to be interested as well, but it's unclear whether anyone will offer Youkilis multiple years.
