Kevin Love scored 33 points and added 19 rebounds to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a close victory over the Denver Nuggets, 132-128. This is the third win in a row for Minnesota (30-29).
Love finished 10-21 (2-6 from three-point range) and 11-13 from the free throw line. Other top performers for Minnesota were J.J. Barea with 16 points and 5 assists, and Nikola Pekovic with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Ty Lawson had another quality performance for Denver in the loss, scoring 31 points on 11-16 shooting (3-4 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 6-7 from the free throw line. Wilson Chandler added 25 points and 10 rebounds and Kenneth Faried finished with 21 points and 8 rebounds.
Denver (25-34) has now lost six in a row.
Coming up, the Timberwolves square off against the New York Knicks, who are 21-40 on the season. The Nuggets match up against the Dallas Mavericks, currently sitting at 36-25 this year. The Timberwolves are 1-0 versus New York this season. The Nuggets have won their last two meetings with Dallas.
