Kevin Durant scores 34 as Thunder defeat Wizards

Kevin Durant scored 34 points and recorded eight rebounds to help the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Washington Wizards, 109-102. The Thunder shot lights out in this game, finishing 44-83 (53.0%). This is the second win in as many games for Oklahoma City (17-17) after beating Phoenix on Wednesday.

Durant went 12-18 from the field (4-7 on 3-pointers) and 6-7 from the free throw line, in a solid performance. Other key performers for Oklahoma City were Russell Westbrook with 22 points and six assists, and Serge Ibaka with 13 points and six rebounds. On 7-15 shooting, including 3-5 from behind the arc, Bradley Beal scored 21 points for Washington in the loss. He also registered 10 rebounds and six assists. John Wall chipped in 14 points and 12 assists.

The Thunder combined an eFG% of 57.8% with 42.1% 3-point shooting. They are undefeated (3-0) this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Wizards, on the other hand, are 1-2 when allowing opponents to hit those marks.

Washington (22-10) has now dropped consecutive games after losing to Dallas on Tuesday.

Coming up, the Thunder take on the Golden State Warriors, who are 25-5 on the season. The Wizards match up against the San Antonio Spurs, currently sitting at 20-14 this year. The Thunder lost their last two meetings with Golden State.
