Russell Westbrook finished with 20 points and registered 12 rebounds and 6 assists in a complete performance to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a close victory over the Orlando Magic, 101-98. Oklahoma City (19-4) has now won six straight contests, dating back to a 109-95 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on December 6th.
Westbrook shot 7-22 from the field and 6-6 from the free throw line. Other top performers for Oklahoma City were Kevin Durant with 28 points and 9 rebounds, and Reggie Jackson with 10 points and 5 assists. Arron Afflalo had another big game for Orlando despite the loss, scoring 25 points on 9-20 shooting (2-7 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 5-5 from the free throw line. Jameer Nelson added 13 points and 8 assists and Glen Davis finished with 11 points and 9 rebounds.
Orlando (7-17) has now lost back-to-back games after falling to Cleveland on Friday.
Coming up, the Thunder square off against the Denver Nuggets, who are 13-9 on the season. The Magic meet the Chicago Bulls, currently sitting at 9-13 this year. The Thunder have a 1-0 record against Denver this season.
