Keselowski won't be fined for comments

Brad Keselowski, the 2012 Sprint Cup champion, will not be fined for derogatory comments he directed at NASCAR following Saturday night's race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Keselowski criticized NASCAR for confiscating the rear housing in his car and the car of teammate Joey Logano's prior to the start of the race. Keselowski had been critical of NASCAR the previous weekend as well.

But NASCAR chairman Brian France told the Fox Business Network on Monday that NASCAR does not plan to fine Keselowski for his comments. NASCAR officials confirmed the decision, according to ESPN.com.

"That's the beauty of NASCAR," France said, according to Fox Business Network. "We do allow the drivers to express themselves in that way, even if they say things that we would disagree with. And I obviously disagree with everything he said.

"Look, they're frustrated. This is the most intense racing in the world. It's not surprising that every once in a while when things don't go your way you just blow off a lot of steam."

France did not comment on what penalties Keselowski and Logano and their team might face for issues regarding the rear housing.
