Kenny Stills would be a perfect signing for the Philadelphia Eagles

While Kenny Stills remains one of the Miami Dolphins biggest potential free agents, it is possible that Stills could still hit the market this offseason. With so many players to re-sign down on South Beach, Stills could slip through the cracks and hit free agency, if only to test the market. Should this happen, the Philadelphia Eagles should make sure they are one of the leading candidates to sign the player.

Turning 25 this Spring, Kenny Stills is one of the most talented, young receivers potentially available. Developing into a player that can be counted on, on almost every down, Stills is quickly moving away from being just a deep threat option to being a potential number one option.

Playing with the Miami Dolphins over the last two seasons, Stills numbers are a bit watered down due to the extremely talented receiving corps down on South Beach. Last season, Stills recorded 42 receptions, 726-yards, and nine touchdown catches. While the first two numbers appear low for a potential number one or two receiver, we must remember that most of his routes in Miami took him deep downfield.

Considering that he was able to become more adaptive as a route runner late in the season, Stills proved that he has the talent and football IQ to continue in his development. At such a young age as well, Still will only improve over the next few seasons. With his already spectacular natural ability giving him an advantage, an increase in his football IQ will only help take him to the next level.

With the Philadelphia Eagles being one of the worst teams in terms of overall wide receiver production last season, it would make sense for the team to pursue a player like Kenny Stills. The only question that remains in such a pursuit is the cost. Having very little salary cap space as they enter the offseason, the Eagles will need to be frugal with their spending.

Considering that the receiver position may need the biggest upgrade of the offseason though, the Eagles may be convinced to spend a little more in an effort to get their man. To me, that man will hopefully be wide receiver Kenny Stills.
