Kenneth Faried scored 20 points on 8-15 shooting from the field and 4-5 from the free throw line. Other top performers for Denver were Darrell Arthur with 15 points and 5 rebounds, and Aaron Brooks with 13 points and 7 assists. Despite the loss, Bradley Beal put up 21 points for Washington on 8-18 shooting, including 3-5 from behind the arc. He also registered 7 rebounds. Trevor Ariza added 18 points and 6 rebounds and Marcin Gortat finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Wizards dished out 20 assists versus 24 turnovers, a ratio of just .83. They are winless (0-4) on the season when committing more errors than assists in a game. The Nuggets, on the other hand, are 3-3 when forcing opponents beneath 1.00 in assist-to-turnover ratio.
This drops Washington (36-34) to 0-2 versus Denver on the season.
Coming up, the Nuggets play the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are 51-18 on the season. The Wizards match up against the Phoenix Suns, currently sitting at 41-29 this year. The Nuggets came away with a loss in two of their last three games against Oklahoma City. The Wizards are 1-0 versus Phoenix this season.
