MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kansas State quarterback Daniel Sams left early in the third quarter of the Wildcats' game against Baylor on Saturday but then returned later in the period and scored.
With his team behind 21-10, Sams appeared to injure his right shoulder on Kansas State's opening possession of the second half. Sams was hit on a quarterback draw and fumbled, although Kansas State recovered.
Sams ran into the locker room after the play and was replaced by Jake Waters, who drove the team another 29 yards for a 32-yard field goal by Jack Cantele.
Sams was not gone long. After the Wildcats blocked a punt, they took over at the 19-yard line and ran a play to the 2 before Sams came in and scored on a run. It was his second TD run of the game and cut the deficit to 21-19.
Sams completed 3 of 5 passes for 29 yards and ran for 134 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries before the injury.
