The Chiefs defeated the Browns, 23-17, at home.
Alex Smith accounted for two scores against the Browns on 24 of 36 passing for 225 yards and no interceptions. Jason Campbell went 22 of 36 with 293 yards passing, two touchdowns and no interceptions for the Browns.
Jamaal Charles was a key factor for the Chiefs, running all over the Browns for 74 yards on 18 carries in addition to five receptions for 46 yards. Dexter McCluster pulled in seven passes for 67 yards with a touchdown.
The Kansas City defense allowed 57 yards rushing and 283 passing. They were able to get to Campbell for one sack.
Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon gave a standout effort with 132 receiving yards and one touchdown. Tight end Jordan Cameron also had a noteworthy performance with 81 receiving yards.
Next week, the Chiefs travel to Orchard Park to face the Bills (3-4) while the Browns are at home against the Ravens (3-4).
