MILAN (AP) -- Kaka has asked AC Milan to stop paying his salary until he recovers from a thigh injury.

In a video message Monday, Kaka says he doesn't ''want anything from Milan except for love and support until I am better.''

The Brazilian is expected to be out for about a month. Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani says Kaka was crying on the phone with him. Galliani informed Kaka of the extent of the injury to the left adductor and the decision to sideline him.

Kaka returned to Milan in the offseason, four years after leaving for Real Madrid in what was a world record transfer at the time.
