Justin Smith says his injured arm is feeling better

National Football Post

Justin Smith is due to have surgery once the season is over but the San Francisco 49ers defensive end says he “can do more stuff every week” playing with a partially torn left triceps tendon.

Smith has worn a brace on his left arm in the last two games. He had been sidelined after being injured Dec. 16.

I think it heals up, obviously, as more time goes by and it's feeling better," Smith said, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.

But the reality is this is a significant injury and Smith isn’t going to be anywhere near 100 percent in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Surgery is inevitable and that is the only thing that is going to heal his arm. With any luck, he’ll have enough strength to be a factor in the game.
