GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Julian Green, the 18-year-old from German club Bayern Munich's developmental system who recently committed his international soccer future to the United States national team, is set to make his debut at forward Wednesday night in an exhibition against Mexico.

Landon Donovan was listed as a substitute.

Green is active for the match between the rival nations at University of Phoenix Stadium. The native of Tampa who grew up in Germany is expected to earn his first senior national team cap with the Americans.

Green has played for both German and U.S. national teams from the U-16 to U-19 levels. He was called in last year by U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann, but declined the invitation to team camp at that time.

The match was delayed a few minutes beyond its 8:15 p.m. local time kickoff because Mexico arrived 36 minutes late to the stadium.

The U.S. starting lineup against Mexico was Nick Rimando in goal, Omar Gonzalez, Matt Besler, Tony Beltran and Michael Parkhurst at defender, Michael Bradley, Brad Davis, Kyle Beckerman and Graham Zusi in the midfield and Clint Dempsey and Chris Wondolowski at forward.

Mexico opened with Moises Munoz in goal, Francisco Javier ''Maza'' Rodriguez, Rafael Marquez, Juan Carlos Valenzuela and Miguel Layun at defender, Marco Fabian, Jesus Zavala and Carlos Alberto Pena at midfielder and Alan Pulido and Isaac Brizuela at forward.
