After a long, drawn out transfer saga, Juan Agudelo has finally made his European debut.
The 21-year-old American striker came on as a 58th-minute substitute for FC Utrecht, as his new team fell 1-0 to home side Roda JC in Eredivisie action.
The former New England Revolution striker was set to move to Premier League side Stoke City after the MLS season ended, but his work permit was denied in November. The Colombian-born Agudelo landed at the Dutch side on loan from Stoke, and he hopes to earn a work permit after playing in the Eredivisie.
Agudelo has been capped 17 times by the U.S. national team, and will look to play his way back into Jurgen Klinsmann's plans after not featuring since January 2013.
