Josh Smith finished with 24 and the Detroit Pistons beat the Sacramento Kings, 99-89. This is only the third win for Detroit (25-39) in its last 10 games.
Smith shot 10-17, in a strong performance. Detroit also got solid performances from Andre Drummond with 15 points and 8 rebounds, and Kyle Singler with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Despite the loss, Rudy Gay scored 20 points for Sacramento on 8-21 shooting. Isaiah Thomas chipped in 19 points and 8 assists and DeMarcus Cousins finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
The Kings posted an eFG% of just 42.3%, including 20.0% from 3-point range. This year, they are 1-7 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Pistons are 4-1 when holding their opponents to such low percentages.
Sacramento (22-42) has now dropped their last three in a row.
