What's buzzing on Yahoo Sports:

Josh Brent attends private memorial for Jerry Brown

National Football Post

Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent, accused of killing teammate Jerry Brown in a drunken wreck Saturday morning, attended a private memorial today.

Brent, who was asked to attend the ceremony by Brown’s mother Stacey Jackson, according to ESPN Dallas, was present along with members of the organization including owner Jerry Jones, coach Jason Garrett and quarterback Tony Romo.

Brent’s Mercedes flipped an caught fire on Saturday after a high-speed accident, according to Irving, Texas police. Brent, who previously did time for a DUI arrest while at the University of Illinois, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Garrett said the team would “support Josh 100 percent in every way that we can” and the NFL does not have an issue with Brent being with the team. Brown, who was on the practice squad, was living with Brent.

It would be surprising to us if Brent is allowed to play any more this season by the Cowboys. But no one has discussed that matter.
