Jorge Soler: Deal With Cubs Finalized
Update: The Cubs finalized their deal with Soler, who agreed to a nine-year, $30 million contract with the team, the team's official site reports. "He has a ton of power potential for us," GM Jed Hoyer said. "We scouted him heavily. Obviously, it's a significant commitment for us, but we feel he fits very well into what we want to do - he's the right age, right talent. We're excited to finally get him started."

Recommendation: Soler isn't likely to make an impact until 2013 at the earliest, but he could be part of a Cubs' nucleus that includes Anthony Rizzo, Starlin Castro and Brett Jackson.
