Jordi Alba has insisted that Spain does not fear any opponent at Euro 2012, and stressed that the title holder is only focusing on its own performances.
La Roja are considered favorites to win this summer's tournament, but face stiff competition from teams such as Netherlands and Germany.
Nevertheless, the wing back is adamant that Spain is not worried about its rivals.
"Obviously, there are teams like Germany and Netherlands, but we don't fear anyone. We are only thinking about ourselves," Jordi Alba stated to reporters. "Our first opponents Italy are a great team and it won't be easy. However, we will do our utmost to make sure we win the game."
The Valencia defender then went on to express his delight with his inclusion in Spain's squad for this summer's showpiece.
"I am very happy with this opportunity," he said. "I just want to do my best for the team. If the people want to see me play against Italy, that's great. I'm already happy just to be part of the squad, though, and play with the European and world champions."
Spain starts Euro 2012 with the Group C match against Italy on June 10.
