Jordan Farmar's 30 carries Lakers over Kings

Jordan Farmar came off the bench and put up 30 points to help the Los Angeles Lakers slip by the Sacramento Kings, 126-122. The Lakers had a strong shooting performance, finishing 48-80 (60.0%) from the field, including 19-27 (70.4%) from beyond the arc. Los Angeles (20-39) has won just three of its last 10 games.

Farmar went 9-14 (8-10 from three-point range) and 4-5 from the free throw line, in a quality offensive outing. Other top contributors for Los Angeles included Pau Gasol with 22 points and 6 assists, Wesley Johnson with 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Kent Bazemore with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Rudy Gay had another big game for Sacramento despite the loss, scoring 32 points on 11-22 shooting (1-4 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 9-9 from the free throw line. He also registered 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Derrick Williams contributed 26 points and 12 rebounds, Isaiah Thomas finished with 26 points and 8 assists, and Jason Thompson put up 17 points and 11 rebounds.

The Lakers combined an eFG% of 71.9% with 70.4% 3-point shooting. They are 6-5 this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Kings, on the other hand, are winless (0-11) when allowing opponents to hit those marks.

Sacramento (20-38) has now dropped three in a row to Los Angeles.

Coming up, the Lakers square off with the Portland Trail Blazers, who are 40-18 on the season. The Kings go up against the Minnesota Timberwolves, currently sitting at 28-29 this year. The Lakers have a 0-1 record against Portland this season. The Kings are 1-0 versus Minnesota this season.
