What's buzzing:

Jones-Drew out this week with foot injury, perhaps longer

The SportsXchange

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey told reporters Monday that running back Maurice Jones-Drew will not play this weekend against the Green Bay Packers because of a foot injury, but the team also fears it could be a season-ending injury.

Jones-Drew left after the Jaguars' first offensive play of Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss at the Oakland Raiders with an injured left foot.

The team has no official diagnosis for Jones-Drew's injury yet, but Mularkey said Monday the injury could be a Lisfranc injury, which is a displacement of bones within the foot. If it is a Lisfranc injury, Jones-Drew probably will miss the rest of the season.

Jones-Drew led the NFL in rushing last season, then held out of training camp this season in a contract dispute. This year he has 414 rushing yards.

Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who injured his non-throwing (left) shoulder during the game, will likely play against the Packers. If he cannot go, Chad Henne will get the start. Henne replaced Gabbert on Sunday.
