Recommendation: The deal would presumably send Broxton into the Reds' closing role, while incumbent Aroldis Chapman would join the rotation to facilitate the move. Broxton served primarily as a setup man for the Reds, producing a 2.82 ERA in 22.1 innings, but did convert 23 of 27 save chances with the Royals before coming over in a July 31 trade. Broxton has lost some velocity on his fastball in recent years, but still posted a quality 8.06 K/9 IP during his time with the Reds.
