Jonas Valanciunas scored 16 points and notched 11 rebounds, his 10th double-double of the season, to lead the Toronto Raptors to a blowout victory over the Detroit Pistons, 112-91. This is the seventh win for Toronto (17-17) in its last 10 games.
Valanciunas went 7-9 from the field, in a solid performance. Toronto also got solid performances from Kyle Lowry with 21 points and 9 assists, DeMar DeRozan with 19 points and 6 rebounds, and Amir Johnson with 10 points and 11 rebounds. On 6-19 shooting (3-8 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 7-9 from the free throw line, Brandon Jennings scored 22 points for Detroit in the loss. He also tallied 9 assists. Josh Smith contributed 13 points and 6 rebounds and Greg Monroe finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
In addition to 25.0% from 3-point range, the Pistons tallied an eFG% of just 41.9%. They are winless (0-9) on the season when registering marks below 30% and 45%, respectively, in those statistics. The Raptors, conversely, are 2-1 when holding the opposition to such dismal shooting numbers.
Detroit (14-22) has now lost six straight.
