Jon Jones Undergoes Random Drug Test in UFC 182 Lead-up

Not surprisingly, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones on Thursday was required to submit to a random drug test requested by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Jones is scheduled to defend his belt against Daniel Cormier in the UFC 182 main event on Jan. 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The bout had initially been scheduled for UFC 178, but was delayed when Jones suffered a leg injury in training.

The two were in a highly publicized public scuffle at a UFC media event in the lead-up to the original UFC 178 event, with both men receiving sanctions from the NAC.

Jones didn't seem too concerned about the drug test, which included blood work, and barring any unforeseen issues, the fight should take place on Jan. 3 as planned.

“The Nevada State Athletic Commission just stopped by my house and hit me with that random,” Jones wrote. “Only thing I'm on is that #PHW pure hard work! They're probably wondering how my chicken legs are so strong. I've had a few @muscletech products but that's all legal :)”
