Jon Jones Traffic Case Rescheduled for March
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones‘ court case involving three recent traffic citations has been delayed until late March.
“About to win a world title in a few weeks and they're talking about tickets,” Jones said on a Monday video post to Instagram after news broke that he had been stopped and cited for driving without a license, no proof of insurance, and no proof of registration on Jan. 31 in Albuquerque, N.M. That is the same city where he was charged and arrest for causing a felony hit and run accident last year.

A routine traffic stop and citation wouldn't generally be considered that significant if it hadn't been for the hit and run accident and the outcome resulting in Jones being placed on probation.
Although the district attorney's office that handled Jones' hit and run accident could have moved to revoke his probation due to the recent traffic citations, it opted not to do so. Jones will, according to an MMAFighting.com report, be required to perform three days of community service for “failing to report police contact and tickets.”
He will also still have to go before the court to deal with the citations. He was supposed to appear in court on Wednesday, Feb. 10, but his court date has been rescheduled for March 23, according to court records.
Meanwhile, Jones is scheduled to rematch UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 on April 23. He will attempt to regain the belt that he was stripped of following the felony hit and run accident.
