Jokerit has entire arena take Mannequin Challenge during game (Video)

The Mannequin Challenge is the latest viral “contest” sweeping the world. It’s like the Harlem Shake for people with no rhythm, or the Ice Bucket Challenge for people who don’t want to fake giving to charity after performing it.

As we chronicled last week, the meme – in which a group of people are frozen in time like Professor X just Cerebro’d them, standing like mannequins, which is apparently challenging, hence the name – has swept through the hockey world.

That included Jokerit, the Finland-based hockey team playing in the KHL, who appropriately got in on the joke:

Much respect to any video in which two teammates are about to share a cheesecake while a third appears to be popping Percocet next to them.

That’s an impressive amount of planning and scope right there, but Jokerit decided to raise the bar on the Mannequin Challenge to the roof of their arena.

Here is Jokerit’s not-entirely-successful but points-for-the-effort Mannequin Challenge against Kunlun at Hartwall Arena:

Hey, you try and make an omelet with 10,000 eggs, a few are going to fall on the floor, right?

Much respect to the broadcasters getting into it. And to the Ice Girl who decided to check her manicure during it. But demerits to the guys yelling during it, and to the entirety of the Kunlun bench which clearly doesn’t have time for these Finnish reindeer games.
