Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are winless through the first five races of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season, but the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway could bring an end to that for one of them. Eight of Gordon's 88 career wins have come at Martinsville, including last October. Johnson, meanwhile, has celebrated in Martinsville's Victory Lane 42.1 percent of the time over the past decade (eight wins in 19 races). Johnson and Gordon are two of the most successful drivers on the Sprint Cup circuit. Johnson has won the points title six of the last eight years and Gordon is a four-time champion.
