John Wall scored 28 points and handed out 14 assists to surpass the 600-assist mark for the season (8.9 assists per game), and the Washington Wizards defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 117-107. Washington (36-33) picked up the win after falling to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday.
Wall shot 11-21 from the field (1-4 on 3-pointers) and 5-5 from the free throw line. He added 14 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals also Washington also got solid performances from Marcin Gortat with 13 points and 13 rebounds, Trevor Ariza with 12 points and 7 rebounds, and Drew Gooden with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Despite the loss, Nick Young put up 21 points off the bench for Los Angeles on 7-16 shooting, including 4-9 from behind the arc.
Los Angeles (22-46) has now lost four in a row.
