John Scott vs. Marek vs. Wyshynski (Podcast)
As you know, because we’ve reminded you incessantly, the Marek Vs. Wyshynski podcast played a role in getting John Scott voted into the NHL All-Star Game last season.
The rest of the weird-ass hockey fable that played out was due to Scott’s infectious enthusiasm, the NHL’s resistance to his participation and a few moments of unexpected hockey prowess that made the big lug the MVP of the weekend.
But during all of that chaos and its aftermath, Scott never appeared on MvsW to discuss the All-Star controversies and his well-publicized disdain over how the campaign started as a “joke” on our podcast.
“In the beginning, at least, I just wanted the entire thing to go away,” he said in January.
On Thursday, John Scott finally joined us for a wide-ranging discussion. We talked about the fan vote. We talked about the All-Star Game. We talked about his career, his fights, chasing Phil Kessel around the ice and his retirement plans. And we asked him, point blank, if he pretty much hates us.
