Their best pass rusher left Sunday’s divisional round victory over the Seattle Seahawks with a sprained ankle but the plan right now is for John Abraham to be ready in time for the game. Falcons coach Mike Smith indicated in his press conference today that he expects the veteran defensive end to practice before the end of the week.
Abraham left during the second quarter and did not return. The Falcons didn’t get much pressure on Russell Wilson, either.
“After awhile, I just couldn’t push off of it anymore,” Abraham said after the game, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Abraham vowed to play this week too.
“Oh yeah, you know me,” he said. “You can’t keep me out of that game. We’re going to treat the (heck) out of it.”
