Consider former New York Jets defensive lineman Joe Klecko unimpressed.
The member of the New York Sack Exchanged appeared on radio station WFAN to express his disappointment in 2012 first-round pick Quinton Coples, offering a popular cliche to describe his on-field ability.
“A little bit of the time he looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane," Klecko said, via the New York Daily News.
Klecko said that Coples will look great one play but disappear at other times.
“Sometimes [Coples] gets out there and does things that are unbelievable,” Klecko said. “Well, you need to go out there and stick your nose in there every time and make sure everybody knows you’re there. I think he has a lot to learn."
There's still plenty of time for Coples to step up his consistency on the Jets' defensive line. He's recorded 10 sacks the past two season, with 68 combined tackles.
Hearing a Jets legend like Klecko criticize him should light a fire under Coples to step his game up for the 2014 season.
