Joe Johnson scores 22, Nets dominate Bobcats

Deron Williams scored 18 points and recorded 10 assists, his third double-double of the season, to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a blowout victory over the Charlotte Bobcats, 114-87. The Nets took quality shots, finishing 42-72 (58.3%) from the field, including 16-23 (69.6%) from beyond the arc. This is the second win in as many games for Brooklyn (10-12) after beating Philadelphia on Friday.

Williams shot 4-11 from the field (3-4 on 3-pointers) and 7-7 from the free throw line. Other key players for Brooklyn included Joe Johnson with 22 points and seven rebounds, Bojan Bogdanovic with 12 points and six rebounds, and Mason Plumlee with 11 points and 13 rebounds. On 5-13 shooting from the field and 5-6 from the free throw line, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 15 points off the bench for Charlotte in the loss.

Along with their eFG% of 69.4%, the Nets connected at a rate of 69.6% from 3-point range. On the season, they are undefeated (3-0) when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Bobcats are winless (0-6) when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.

Charlotte (6-17) has now lost back-to-back games after falling to Memphis on Friday.

Coming up, the Nets play the Miami Heat, who are 11-13 on the season. The Bobcats match up with the Cleveland Cavaliers, currently sitting at 13-9 this year. The Nets have a 0-1 record against Miami this season.
