Jets sign cornerback, release two players

The New York Jets, less than one week into training camp, have signed a defensive back and waived two players, the team announced Wednesday.

The Jets added Devon Torrence, a second-year cornerback from Ohio State. He spent time last season in the Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals camps.

Meanwhile, the team released fullback Fui Vakapuna and safety Tracy Wilson.

Vakapuna, from BYI, has been in camps and practice squads for the Bengals, the Arizona Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts. Wilson, from Northern Illinois, signed with the Jets last season after he was not picked in the supplemental draft and played five games, making five tackles.
