Jets to shop Tebow during combine

The SportsXchange

The New York Jets are in full salary-dump mode having earlier this week released Bart Scott and Calvin Pace among others. And now, according to, new Jets general manager John Idzik is going to shop Tim Tebow during the NFL combine.

The Jets can't trade Tebow until March 12, but it does not appear there is a market for Tebow who saw limited action last year as quarterback and a member of the Jets' special teams.

If the Jets can't find a trade partner, it is possible that they will release Tebow.

There had been reports that the Jacksonville could be a destination for Tebow. Jacksonville, Fla., is his hometown and the Jaguars have shown interest in the past. But new Jaguars general manager David Caldwell dismissed the idea of Tebow being a member of the Jaguars.

"He is a member of the New, so I can't imagine a scenario where he would be a Jacksonville Jaguar," Caldwell said during a January press conference. "I can't imagine a scenario where Tim Tebow would be a Jacksonville Jaguar -- even if he's released."

If Tebow is released and can't find a job in the NFL, the Canadian Football League could be an option.
