Jets RB Goodson indicted on weapons charges

New York Jets running back Mike Goodson was indicted on weapons charges, the prosecutor's office in Morris, N.J., announced Thursday.

The indictment stems from a May 17 incident in which New Jersey State Police found Goodson and another man in a car that had a Taurus .45 caliber handgun loaded with a hollow point bullet.

Goodson was indicted on charges of second degree unlawful possession of a weapon and fourth degree prohibited weapons and devices.

It was a short season for Goodson. He was suspended the first four games after his May arrest, which included marijuana possession charges. He was banned for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Goodson then tore the ACL and MCL in his left knee that he suffered in a 19-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 13.

Goodson rushed for 32 yards on just three carries against the Atlanta Falcons in his season debut and gained 29 yards on the ground on four carries against the Steelers.
