The Jets turned it over three times, managed only 177 yards of offense and were dismantled by the Dolphins, 23-3, at home.
Matt Simms couldn't reach the end zone as he went 9 for 18 passing for only 79 yards, one pick and one fumble. Ryan Tannehill had a better game for the Dolphins, and wound up 28 for 43 with 331 yards passing, two touchdowns and one pick.
Chris Ivory gained 61 yards on 12 carries and had one reception for 12 yards. Kellen Winslow snagged three passes for 26 yards.
The New York defense surrendered 125 yards rushing and 331 passing. They got to Tannehill once for a sack.
Dolphins wide receiver Brian Hartline was impressive, racking up 127 receiving yards and one touchdown. Tight end Charles Clay also put together a noteworthy performance with 80 receiving yards.
The Jets are at home to take on the Raiders (4-8) next week while the Dolphins travel to Pittsburgh to meet the Steelers (5-7).
