Jets cut PK Brown, stick with Folk

The SportsXchange

Nick Folk has won the Jets' place-kicking job with the team releasing Josh Brown following a neck-and-neck three-week battle.

Coach Rex Ryan told reporters last week that it was up to special teams coach Mike Westhoff to decide when it was "appropriate" to declare a winner in the Brown-Folk derby.

"The two kickers we have (have) been doing a tremendous job," Ryan said last week. "I think both guys will kick in the league this year."

The Jets waived/injured fullback Josh Baker and released linebacker Damario Ambrose, running back Jeremy Stewart and wide receivers Stanley Arukwe and Wes Kemp.
