Jets CB Berry suffers season-ending knee injury

The New York Jets announced that cornerback Aaron Berry suffered a knee injury in Friday's practice that will sideline him for the entire season.

NFL.com reported that the injury is a torn anterior-cruciate ligament.

A date for surgery has not yet been set.

Berry started three games for the Detroit Lions in 2011, but was arrested twice in one month during the ensuing offseason. He was cut by the Lions last July and served a three-game suspension in 2012 for a DUI and brandishing a gun.

Berry signed with the Jets last year and played in seven games last season, but did not make any starts.
