Jets hire Idzik as GM

The Jets brought back OLB Bryan Thomas on Monday, two days after releasing the former first-round pick.

Thomas started the season opener and had one tackle. He missed Week Two with a hamstring injury and was released on Saturday.

Thomas has been with the Jets since 2002, when he was their first-round draft pick. He played in four games last season before suffering an Achilles injury. Thomas has 419 tackles and 31 sacks in his career. He told reporters that the Jets told him they would bring him back.

The Jets announced the move and that they also re-signed WR Patrick Turner. Turner was with the team in the season opener before getting cut. He had eight catches for 96 yards last season. The Jets released DT Marcus Dixon, CB Donnie Fletcher and OT Dennis Landolt. Dixon appeared in all three games and had one tackle, Fletcher was activated from the practice squad for Sunday's game and Landolt has been out with a knee injury.
