NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- If the first two games following the Olympic break are any indication, the Winnipeg Jets weren't slowed by a 19-day hiatus.

Goaltender Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 39 shots Saturday as Winnipeg won for the 11th time in 15 games under new coach Paul Maurice, defeating the Nashville Predators 3-1 at sold-out Bridgestone Arena.

Center Olli Jokinen and left winger Andrew Ladd tallied second-period goals for the Jets (30-26-6), who moved into a tie for the Western Conference's final playoff spot with Dallas and Vancouver.

Right winger Devin Setoguchi tacked on insurance with his 11th goal at 16:08 of the third period, a rebound off a shot by right winger Blake Wheeler.

Pavelec weathered a barrage of shots in the first two periods, recording 29 saves, including 11 during five Nashville power plays. He improved to 20-22-4 and has won eight of his 11 starts since Maurice took over for the fired Claude Noel on Jan. 12.

Rookie center Simon Moser's tip-in goal at 9:11 of the third period was the only tally for the Predators (26-25-10), who fell to 1-2-0 on a season-high six-game homestand and remained four points out of the West's final playoff spot.

Jokinen broke the scoring seal at 5:02 of the second, speeding down the left wing and ripping a 30-foot wrister past goalie Carter Hutton.

Ladd made it 2-0 at 18:19 of the second, deflecting a slapper by defenseman Zach Bogosian by Hutton for his 15th goal of the season.

Hutton (14-10-4) finished with 17 saves.

NOTES: Winnipeg is one of only two NHL teams with nine double-digit goal scorers. It was the first team to get to that mark when RW Devin Setoguchi scored his 10th goal on Jan. 31 in a 4-3 win over Vancouver. ... Nashville G Pekka Rinne made 16 saves Friday night in a rehab game for Milwaukee of the AHL, his first action since Oct. 22, when he lost, 2-0, at Minnesota. Rinne, who has been out since then because of surgery to remove a spontaneous bacterial infection in his hip, will play in Milwaukee on Sunday and could return to the Predators for Tuesday night's home game with Pittsburgh. ... The Jets haven't had a hat trick since Dec. 18, 2010, when Eric Boulton did it for the then-Atlanta Thrashers. ... Predators LW Nick Spaling (lower-body injury) missed his fourth straight game and there is no timetable for his return.
