Jeremy Guthrie Agrees to Deal with Royals

Rotowire.com
Update: Guthrie agreed to a three-year, $25 million contract with the Royals on Tuesday, according to the Royals' official Twitter page.

Recommendation: Guthrie became a free agent for the first time this offseason and cashed in on a strong finish to the 2012 season. He posted an ugly 6.35 ERA in 15 games with the Rockies, but after being traded to the Royals, he went 5-3 with a 3.16 ERA in 14 starts to close out the year. Guthrie's low strikeout rate makes him only an average fantasy option, but he does provide the Royals with a quality veteran who has averaged 30 starts over the last six years.
