Jeff Green, Kris Humphries power Celtics over Pistons

Kris Humphries scored 20 points and recorded 11 rebounds, his sixth double-double of the season, to lead the Boston Celtics to a victory over the Detroit Pistons, 118-111. The Celtics shot 47-97 (48.5%) from the field and turned it over on only five possessions. This is only the third win for Boston (22-41) in its last 10 games.

Humphries finished 9-13, in a strong performance. Other key players for Boston included Kelly Olynyk with 18 points and 6 rebounds, Jared Sullinger with 14 points and 8 rebounds, and Rajon Rondo with 11 points and 18 assists. Josh Smith had another strong performance for Detroit in the loss, putting up 28 points on 12-24 shooting (3-6 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 1-5 from the free throw line. He also registered 11 rebounds. Greg Monroe added 22 points and 14 rebounds, Andre Drummond finished with 18 points and 22 rebounds, and Brandon Jennings put up 14 points and 7 assists.

After putting up a sparkling assist-to-turnover ratio of 7.60, the Celtics are 2-4 on the season when eclipsing 2.50 in this category. However, the Pistons are 1-6 when allowing their opponents to achieve such a lofty ratio.

Detroit (24-39) has now dropped their last three consecutive games.

Coming up, the Celtics square off with the Indiana Pacers, who are 46-16 on the season. The Pistons go up against the Sacramento Kings, currently sitting at 22-41 this year. The Celtics lost their last three meetings with Indiana. The Pistons are 1-0 versus Sacramento this season.
