Take note, eligible bachelors and bachelorettes, because Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper is officially off the market. Harper got married to long-time girlfriend Kayla Varner over the weekend.

Based on pictures from the event, it looks like a pretty excellent time.

Yeah, check out that church in the background. That’s an excellent picture. Overall, it seems like a pretty epic experience, which is fitting considering Harper was involved.

Combine the person, location and the fact that weddings are supposed to be celebrations, and it’s tough to imagine anyone had a bad time at the event. Well … that is … until you see Jayson Werth.

So, there’s a lot going on here. First off, that’s a picture of Harper’s groomsmen. You’ll notice current Colorado Rockies first baseman Ian Desmond on the far left. Next to him is the always cheery Jayson Werth. Apparently, his high-intensity, never let the opponent see your weakness thing applies in all situations.

On the field, we can understand that. Some players like to pretend they are warriors. They use that as motivation to go out there an dominate. But … uh … this is a wedding. And not only that, but it’s the wedding of someone who considers you to be a very close friend. Would it kill you to crack a tiny smile, Jayson Werth? We’re not asking for a full set of teeth … just something to show you’re excited to be there.

Then again, maybe Werth had his mind on other things:

Yeah. That about sums it up. We better end this post and go into hiding now. Jayson Werth doesn’t look like the type of person who is willing to laugh at anything.
