Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ, who was released from the hospital Wednesday after getting hit in the head by a line drive Tuesday, is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks, MLB.com reported Thursday.
Happ, 30, suffered a head contusion and a small fracture behind his left ear. He also has a sprained right knee.
The Blue Jays expect him to rest for about one week before he starts throwing off flat ground. If he does not have any setbacks, he could be back in the Blue Jays' rotation by early June.
Happ, who is on the 15-day disabled list, is 2-2 with a 4.91 ERA over seven starts this season.
