Breaking news:

Jason Grilli: Named Pirates' Closer

Rotowire.com
Update: The Pirates announced Thursday that Grilli will enter next season as the team's closer, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

Recommendation: Grilli has just five career saves and has never entered a season as a closer, but he will get the first shot at replacing the departed Joel Hanrahan after posting a 2.91 ERA and 90:22 K:BB ratio in a late-inning role a season ago. Grilli clearly lacks ninth-inning experience, but he has put together back-to-back quality seasons for the Pirates. Grilli's strikeout rate last season was by far the best of his career, but if he can maintain it, he will be a sneaky closer option in fantasy leagues in 2013.
