Update: Halak (groin strain) was placed on IR on Sunday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Recommendation: A puck to the face forced Halak from Friday's game, but apparently he also suffered a groin strain at some point. Brian Elliott will start at least the next two games but coach Ken Hitchcock expects Halak to be ready to go by next weekend.
