Jared Sullinger finished with 25 points and added 20 rebounds, his 10th double-double of the season, to lead the Boston Celtics to a close victory over the Toronto Raptors, 88-83. This is only the first win for Boston (14-26) in its last 10 games.
Sullinger finished 7-14 and converted 10-14 from the free throw line. Boston also got solid performances from Avery Bradley with 20 points and 5 rebounds, and Kris Humphries with 12 points and 8 rebounds. On 9-22 shooting from the field and 4-9 from the free throw line, DeMar DeRozan put up 23 points for Toronto in the loss. He also recorded 8 rebounds. Kyle Lowry contributed 18 points and 12 assists.
This defeat means an end to a three-game winning streak for Toronto, pushing their record to 19-18 for the year.
Coming up next, the Celtics play the Los Angeles Lakers, who are 14-24 on the year. The Raptors go up against the Minnesota Timberwolves, currently 18-19 this season.
